We are very pleased to have welcomed Andy Haldane, Chief Economist at the Bank of England, to deliver our Annual Lecture on 25th July 2017. Andy looked at global flows of goods and services, money and capital and people and ideas over the post war period and the evidence on how these had affected growth and the distribution of income and wealth between and within the developed and developing world.

For an insight into our 2016 thought leadership events, read here about our event with Adair Turner and Martin Wolf - the Devil, Debt and Democracy - and their hard hitting challenge to politicians and policy makers. Held on 4th February, this was the first of our 2016 thought leadership series, kindly supported by AIG.

Lord Turner's important new book Between Debt and the Devil: Money, Credit and Fixing Global Finance was the catalyst for the event, which also built on last year's Finance Foundation debate with the same two speakers, examining Martin Wolf's book The Shifts and the Shocks and bringing in his latest thinking on democracy and inequality.
