Our event on Thursday 24th January 2019 looked at the opportunities and challenges of AI and how finance might evolve in response.

Artificial Intelligence – harnessing the benefits of the next disruptive technology

The Finance Foundation is delighted to host our next thought leadership event, supported by AIG Europe Ltd.

 Thursday 24th January 2019

6pm – 8pm

Artificial intelligence and machine learning are already beginning to have an impact on every aspect of work and society, offering huge potential benefits both commercially and for the delivery of public services, not least health and care. Employment will be transformed, with the financial sector as vulnerable as any. New types of job and business opportunities will arise, as will new challenges for regulation and for development of the skills needed to work in, deliver and use the products of AI. Should we be optimistic about the AI future and what risks do we need to anticipate and protect against? How might finance evolve in response?

To discuss this we are delighted to welcome panelists Tim Jones CBE, Co-Founder & CEO of global digital cash start up Tibado Limited, Reza Khorshidi Chief Scientist at AIG and one of the co-leads of the Deep Medicine program at Oxford University's Martin School and Sarah O’Connor, the Financial Times’ award-winning employment correspondent whose specialisms include technology, migration, corporate surveillance and the future of work.

This will be followed by a moderated Q&A.

This event will be hosted in the Council Room at One Birdcage Walk, Westminster, London SW1H 9JJ.

Registration is from 6pm and the event will begin promptly at 6.30pm, with drinks served after the formal proceedings and the evening ending at approximately 8pm. Please click here for directions.
